The sternness in the wolf's voice has a 50-50 chance of providing Bob something to rail against. But eventually, since he doubts the stranger is in a position of authority, he reconciles that this is simply just a harsh reminder of how soft and squishy he is. A near miss that could've ended in very sloppy remains.

"Right, yeah. Lesson learned, obviously."

It's probably not but at least Bob will try to find a suitable thank you for this hulking unit who's not only spared him but also actively hauled his arse from the flames. As much as he's finding this entire experience a fucking terror, he's also desperate to 1) feel his body again and 2) take a nap. Maybe after some food. There's not much that makes him lose his appetite, after all.
