It doesn't take all that much encouragement for Vex to show off for him. It's easy to justify, honestly—she's done a good deal of work here, and she's proud of what she's made for herself.

There doesn't have to be any ulterior motive.

She doesn't mention the fact that her bed was removed quite violently by Vex's girlfriend, who happened to be a werewolf. That feels awkward to mention. She'll... introduce them later. But that can be a problem for later Vex. "New bed pending, but I've slept on worse than the floor in the meantime."
